FOUNDERS STORY—You know that feeling when you finish a book and need someone to talk to about it? The characters you’re still thinking about. The ending you wanted. The world you weren’t quite ready to leave.
Rhonda knows it, too.
At 12, she was slipping romance novels into the grocery cart while shopping with her mom, who was happy to keep an avid reader supplied with books. Through every chapter since, reading has been a source of joy, comfort, and possibility. Her tastes have wandered, but romance has always held a special place in her heart. And, yes—the happily ever after is essential.
During a demanding career, a friend nudged her back toward the romance books she loved. Later, while recovering from a series of injuries in 2024, she read 398 books—almost all romance. Those stories gave her somewhere to go when she couldn’t go very far herself.
When it was time to build something of her own, she wanted it rooted in that love—and shared with other women who felt it, too.
That’s where Spark Alchemy began. Rhonda brings her experience creating events and bringing people together to something deeply personal: making room for readers to gather around the stories they love.
